It’s becoming a little ridiculous how much I love this website. I am spending so much free time looking at these peoples lives and am struck by a really intimate and special insight. You capture them so beautifully. Leyla has such an amazing look and yet the images seem to reach deeper. Keep it coming.
Treadsafe,
Actually I dont know her well, though we had met a few times before.
I always wanted to shoot her as she has such amazingly expressive eyes.
I think I got to know her a bit better after our shoot. We had such a great conversation while shooting. She is an extremely intelligent and deep girl.
Thanks for commenting.

LEYLA, you’ve broken my AAW cherry. I am not only in love with your space, but now this blog. Look forward to frequenting this digital space during my afternoons.
OK, here’s someone I can deal with. Her apartment looks just about like mine would–if I had to live in a small space. However, she does a nice job of keeping it all together. Who has time as an aspiring actress to think about putting everything in a photographic spot? I think I’ll hang a bright scarf on my fridge handle!
Amazing NYC apartment, and beautiful pictures!!!
(wish I could find a place like this!)
What a familiar face, feels like I’ve seen her in the neighborhood. Oh yes, she is a waitress at a local restaurant.

I like Leyla’s space. Michael knew her well it seems.

The scarf on the fridge is ingenious! Such a small touch makes a big difference!
April, one of my favorite shots from this series. Thanks for stopping by!

Thank you Lukas. Looking forward to hearing from you again.
Her home looks so bright and lovely, it’s a shame she looks so bored and glum.
She’s not bored and glum – just quiet.
I’m going to repeat myself, but once again gorgeous, brilliant. Everything looks so natural and fresh. Love it!
Thanks for the compliments M.K. Means a lot coming from another photographer. Hope you enjoy the stories to come. Michael
I surely will, the way you arrange the space, especially around the subject/model is worth checking out.

Vivian,
I met Leyla through my wife a couple years ago. As soon as I met her, I knew I had to take pictures of her.
Leyla has a quiet and very calming way about her that others can sense immediately. She would be an extraordinary actress.
