to me, he was a true new yorker.
Great photos. Even way up in Canada’s north I have heard this man’s name so many times. True impact.
I heard the name, it sounds so familiar that I thought it was the mayor in our little city. Turns out I know the name of the New York mayor better than I know who our mayor is. I love New York!

i love the first left shot and the last one about him. looks an interesting personality and a kind man.
he seems to be a flower person, lol. i see a lot of different flowers. love that.
and M, did you process the photo of living room and dinning room a bit? the one with sofa and the tables. because the light in photos look extremely bright.
i like his apartment, the style is simple and lively. “skinny is sexy” 😉
i like the last photo also because the interesting BBQ, the environment at that time and feeling of old time 🙂
Hey Fiona,
Nice to hear from you.
Those pictures were originally shot on film so it has a slightly different feel than the usual images on AAW.
BTW its Sixty is Sexy on the pillow, which is even funnier.
He was very nice to work with and fun too.
Take care,
Michael
Loved the guy , he will be missed.
Great Pictures, NYC is such a beautiful place. Growing up in the South I remember Mayor being the face of the city. I hate to see him go.
The pictures are beautiful, so is Mayor Ed Koch. How stylish…
A great visual piece on the late former Mayor.
Oh how I envy you. He was always one of my favorites. Larger than life. Thanks for sharing.
My husband remembers Ed Koch as mayor and is also sad to see him pass away. He states that Ed Koch had a great, winning, larger-than-life personality who served New York well in his time with us.
Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for sharing; he seems a most lovely, and humble man!
